Creations Oklahoma City woman are organizing your stuff easy and fun.
What began as a request from a friend to help organize itself into a thriving business for Ruth Holcomb and a stylish way for other women to keep their orders together.
The carrier was the response of Holcomb for her soccer mom friend who wanted something similar to the organizer, toy his child to maintain order in the car, a catch-all to keep everything in magazines and snacks for a water bottle and cell phone. And toys, of course.
Other women have taken note, and soon Holcomb whipped more bins at his home in Oklahoma City. She made 100 and took them to a show in New Orleans, then Affair of the Heart in Oklahoma City.
With business increasing, Holcomb knew it would either put a cap on him and continue to make every play itself or find a manufacturer capable of handling large volumes. Two years ago, manufacturing moved to Mexico, then last year in China.
The move to China allowed Holcomb introduce other pieces under the name RuthMichael Inc., including a bracelet, women totes, Bible covers and organizer, and Caddy diaper totes and sleeve laptop. It has 13 rooms in seven different models, with more to come.
The best-selling book continues to be the carrier, together with the low waist tote.
“When I started showing it to people … my thought was, I can not believe it has not been thought before, “she said. The carrier was designed to keep women organized in their car, “she said. The tote could be taken at the end of the day, emptied and reloaded.
Its handling, though, has made perfect for tradesmen, teachers and any woman who filled her purse or car with the stuff she needed or wanted to spend the day. It immediately eliminated clutter, holding everything for life on the road.
“Women who have bought, love it,” she said.
The carrier, selling for $ 80, has been compared to having a personal assistant with handles.
It is logical that the friend of Holcomb seek help for a product of the organization. Although RuthMichael Inc. was founded in March 2007, Holcomb has created window treatments tailored for the interior designers for years, she knows her way around a sewing machine. She has also designed and sewed patch awards before the carrier arrived.
For a product of the organization, she knew it would not work fragile. She Carrier robust – steep sides and wooden bottom, metal feet and many pockets – but also stylish. It is based on sophisticated models and rich colors, the mixture usually at least two. The best selling model is that it calls the Blue House, an attractive combination of brown curls on a tissue Luscious French blue.
His collection is available at several showrooms across the country, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and Columbus, Ohio. In June, she hopes to have in showrooms in each region so that all retailers in the United States have access, “she said.
This spring, she introduced a makeup modern women totes hanging and three-pack of cosmetics sales. For fall, she will introduce a bedding collection.
The activity involves her husband and their three children. Each month, it shipped about 20 to 30 orders of wholesale. It also has a website, www. ruthmichael.com and articles can be ordered on amazon.com.
“I feel that God gave this to me,” she said. “He has provided this opportunity for us.”
The carrier, a catch-all to help keep women organized, was designed by Ruth Holcomb Oklahoma City. It is large enough to carry a book and magazine, water bottle, snacks, toys, fabrics, iPod, cell phone and more. The Transporter is available in several prints and colors.
